One frigid December night, not that many years ago, I was cozied up in bed thinking about the upcoming Christmas season and those I had lost. My cats were fast asleep, curled up beside me. Around 1:30am, Baby Cat, my beloved, late starseed cat abruptly sat up from his snooze and stared with alarm at the doorway to my bedroom. His eyes were wide open and nothing I did would coax him to relax, or look away from the object of his gaze.
I felt a chill go down my spine and nervously turned my head towards my bedroom doorway, not knowing what I would see. Well, I saw nothing. But let me tell you, I felt a presence in my room.
At this point I began to panic. I did not have any idea if this presence was good or evil. And assuming the worst, I jumped out of bed, ran downstairs to my altar, and grabbed my white sage smudging kit. I quickly lit the sage with a wooden match, and began to wave the smoke forward repeatedly as I walked throughout my house, using an eagle feather I had found one day while walking by the river. The ashes of the sage sifted into the abalone shell I used as a base, piling up against the iridescent, rainbow interior.
As I walked, I recited an ancient Hebrew mantra of protection that I had learned from two of my mentors many years ago, which is as follows: “Kadoish, Kadoish, Kadoish, Adonai Tsebayoth.” This translates roughly to: “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God of Hosts.” I have also seen some reference this as an Ancient Egyptian mantra. Here is a video if you would like to hear the power of this mantra when it is said out loud:
I then told this presence that only spirits of light have permission to be in my house and dark spirits do not have permission and if it was a dark spirit it should f—- off! Yes, that is what I said. Boundaries are a necessary part of mediumship, both with the living and the dead, both the good and the evil.
Well, this ordeal went on for over an hour, during which time Baby Cat was staring at the presence the entire time. And finally, around 3am, he lay back down, and I could feel that the presence had left. And two nights later, this scenario repeated, though this time Baby Cat only stared at the doorway for about 15 minutes.
Consistent with many of the other crazy spiritual phenomena I have experienced over the years, such as my visit from Archangel Michael, I could not initially explain this presence. Well, about six months later I got my answer. I was speaking with Lady Nada and she told me the presence had been Confucius visiting me at Christmastime to bring me a light because he knew I was feeling sad!
How amazing is that? Do you think Confucius visits you as well? For those who may not know, Confucius was a Chinese leader from the sixth century B.C., who is said to have started a religion or morality movement that is still embraced today. From all accounts, he did not have an easy life, and spent much of his time in exile with his disciples. Read more about his life here.
Around the same time as my chat with Lady Nada, I was sitting in a private seance with a well-known medium when Confucius visited again and began to speak to me in Chinese! Well, I obviously had no idea what was being said and when I asked Lady Nada to explain immediately after, she also said “I have no idea!”
Fast forward a year later, and this time I asked my guide, Yellow Feather. He said that Confucius had said, “All I need is for you two to be together.” And I knew that he was referring to my spiritual partner, and I was very touched.
Now, you might think that Confucius had finished with making his presence known, but no. As I have referenced in previous posts, I had a very memorable trip to Montreal, Quebec, Canada, a while back, which had kept me on my toes. My lodging for this trip was a brand-new condo, in a garden-style building, with shiny, stainless steel appliances and modern gray decor. But although this condo was only a year or two old, I discovered that the unit was in serious disrepair, with broken fixtures and trash piled on the balcony.
My companions and I were beyond confused, because the online pictures of the unit had looked so pristine. As our stay went on, this building became stranger and stranger. It was very clearly haunted. It may have been new, but one of the bedrooms was icy cold and I was too spooked to even walk in there during the day! The neighbors above us, below us, next to us, and across the courtyard, argued constantly. Like to the point that we were all being woken up repeatedly to raised, angry voices. And one morning, we went downstairs to the lobby to find that someone had vandalized the walls.
Well, I eventually found out the cause for all of these events, which I will explain momentarily. Now, besides the events I just explained, my companions and I also began to discover multiple Ancient Chinese coins, appearing day after day, randomly in the kitchen and living room. Yes, you read that correctly. They had a square cutout opening in the center and many also had a patina coloring. Below is a personal picture of one of these coins:
And when I asked Yellow Feather what on earth these were and where they were coming from, he said that they were apports! He said that Confucius had brought them to us from another dimension as a token of good luck. I was amazed! And for those of you who may be unfamiliar, an apport is a physical object that a spirit or ghost brings into the physical dimension for a specific purpose. Oftentimes this is for healing, or as a gift. Stay tuned for a future post explaining how specifically they are able to do this, as it requires much more explanation.
On the last morning of my trip, as I was preparing to bring my final suitcase downstairs to my car for the long trip home, I did a walkthrough of the condo. I had saved the spooky bedroom for last and slowly turned the doorknob, as we had kept the door closed throughout our stay.
As my heart pounded, I opened the door and looked with horror as I saw the heavy, queen size metal bed frame had been upended and turned on its side from the night before! I yelled to my companions to come see and their mouths dropped open. I was never so happy to check out of a vacation rental in my life.
A few months later, I finally had the opportunity to ask Yellow Feather what was wrong with that condo and who had moved the bed frame during the night? He explained that the condo building had been built on an old Indian burial ground, and there had also been a gruesome murder on the property many years ago. That is why all the people were arguing and vandalizing the property —because they were picking up on the negative energy.
He also said that the spirit who had moved the bed was Confucius! And I asked, “Why did he move it?” And Yellow Feather said, “Because he wanted to show you what we can do!”
